Callie Singer’s life is pretty simple. She has two loving parents who were weird enough to name her Calliope, and
an obnoxious older brother who their parents named Hobbes, after Thomas Hobbes the philosopher. She has only
two best friends, Max and Fish, she hates sports, her middle school, and the very fake and very snobby Brianna
Blake. Callie liked the way her life was going.

That is until Brianna came up to Fish, the best artist in the school, and asked him to be part of her campaign team.
At first, Callie was sure that Fish would deny the offer, but before she knew it her best friend had crossed to the
    other side.

Callie’s life changes even more when Max nominates her for the election, only because she was called out for
talking in class and needed to avoid getting in trouble. So now Callie is face to face in the election for student
council president against her enemy -- who everyone knows will win no matter what.

At first the idea of actually winning the election seemed impossible to Callie; the idea that she could actually beat
Brianna and possibly change the way the school is run is laughable.  Callie hops on the political train with Max as
her campaign manager and Fish still on the other side. But as the campaigning comes close to an end and the voting
is soon to begin, Callie isn’t so sure that she is in the election for all the right reasons, compared to her opponent.

Funny and very witty, CALLIE FOR PRESIDENT gives an inside look at student council elections, and it’s not
very pretty. Deep down though, Robin Wasserman sends a message that we shouldn’t be quick to judge someone
without truly knowing them, and it definitely goes both ways. CALLIE FOR PRESIDENT is a wonderful addition
to the Candy Apple line, and no one should miss out.
