It’s towards the end of the summer and almost the beginning of her senior year, and Lucy Karate is ready to kick
into action. Her first order of business is to become Lieutenant, and with the aid of her matchmaking skills, it might
just be the easiest thing on her list to do.

The hardest thing for Lucy is letting go of her boyfriend, Sam, who is going away to college. Sure, he is leaving
when they both agreed that they are somewhat in a relationship and that they would take it one day at a time. But
having Sam all the way at college isn’t easy, especially since there are parties and new people for him to get
    acquainted with.

With a boyfriend away, Luce just can’t think about other boys, right? Wrong! There’s a new guy in school, the Brit,
a.k.a. Wes Mallinson, and he’s already making a ruckus, quite literally. Lucy isn’t happy with this new guy on the
field, who just so happens to land a football in her drum. Even his kind gesture of trying to make things better by
giving her flowers fails, especially since all it does is give her allergies. Yes, she could easily admit that he is pretty
gorgeous; however, that would not be any fun at all - she just won’t give him the satisfaction.

Wes doesn’t get what’s wrong with Lucy. He is new to the states, but he really believes that there is something
between them. If only she wouldn’t send such mixed messages or try to set him up with one of her friends, or act
weird when he’s trying ask her out. In the end, all he wants is for Luce to let loose and finally see that maybe they
    are meant to be together.

Pranks, dances, boyfriends, boys, band, competition, best friends - this is one exciting and final year in high school
for both Lucy and Wes. Will a fine line be drawn in the end? Or is this the beginning of a peculiar relationship?

A hilarious and original novel, A FINE LINE captures the relationships, drama, competition, and cliques of high
school. The interaction between Lucy and Wes is just adorable. It just goes to show that two different worlds can
collide and won’t end up clashing at all.

Here is hope that Courtney Brandt is able to further this series, because readers are going to want more of the band
    - and now the football player!
